Trades
Last week, I made a HOOD trade I was uneasy about. Here is what I wrote about it (read full post here):
Then I tried to distract myself with other stuff, got a bit greedy, and placed a rather unnecessary Call Credit Spread on HOOD, with a more traditional 45 DTE. HOOD had an IV of over 60% and I thought to risk $500. The hypothesis was that HOOD stays within its expected move range over 45 days. I say greedy because I bet that the expected move range itself was too wide, and that HOOD should no longer be moving around that much. Typically, I go a little outside of expected move, just outside of 1 Standard Deviation, to pick a price at which I sell the option.
I was itching to close the trade at Monday open, and I did. Just for my peace of mind. Lost $28 on it, but in the grand scheme of things, that seems fine.
I also closed GOOGL and UBER trades, both a win.
I was looking for something to trade on Thursday and tried selling a low IV index, IWM. The price didn't fluctuate enough for my liking, so I closed it the next day (for a tiny, $7 win).
I noticed APPL was under some pressure and was trading a little below its usual price. Sold a standard Put, made ~33% of premium in a day, and closed the trade.
And last, made a pseudo-earnings play on ORCL. The IV for two weeks after ORCL earnings shows as over 50%, which I am speculating should come down after earnings. Opened a Strangle with prices on both Call and Put side outside of 1 Standard Deviation. Received $377 in premium after commissions.
For my TastyTrade account, this is the first time in the past few months that the account has gone green. Fingers crossed for next few weeks and months!

Plan for Next Week
I have 1 open position (ORCL 9/19 $195-$310 Strangle) that I most likely do not need to manage next week, but will keep an eye out.
I am driving around in California this week. I do not think I will have much time to trade. Also, not sure how well the network will be for trading when I am not driving. Looking forward to another interesting week.
Thanks for following along - see you next week!
